Description
Souvenir from the 1966 McClure Bean Soup Festival, held since 1891 in McClure, Snyder County PA. The festival was founded by local Civil War Veterans who even served hardtack at the earliest festivals (along with the bean soup!) As far as I know, the Festival is still going strong, but I'm not sure about 2020....This is a white bowl with gold rim stamped USA on bottom and printed on one side McClure Bean Soup Seventy-fifth Annual 1891 McClure , PA 1966. Measures about 2 1/2" tall and about 5 1/2" in diameter. Over the years, I've come across the miniature cast iron kettles that were made for the Festival, but this is the first such bowl I've run across.Condition: Very nice condition, with about an inch of the gold trim worn off.
