    Description

    Here is a rare, working in-line switch manufactured by the Mitchell-Vance Co. Patented in 1903. See photo 2 for the original 1903 patent drawing. The patent date is also part of the brass casting of the switch's armature (zoom in on photo 4). One hemisphere of the outer brass shell is stamped with the company name & voltage.
    This piece is complete--even the red fiber insulators are here.
    These were used in conjunction with keyless sockets, see photos 6 and 7 for examples. Please note: this sale is for the switch only, the sockets are not included.
