Description

For sale is this amazing set of 12 gilt sterling silver and
guilloché enamel demitasse spoons in their original presentation box.  This is truly a special set of spoons.  They were made by Egon Lauridsen (makers mark E.La) of Denmark.  Lauridsen was in business in Copenhagen from 1936-1966.
The spoons feature an oval bowl with scalloped enameling (i.e. "
g
uilloché")
; a tapered handle with ball terminal; and diagonal enameling on the handle.
The term g
uilloché means
a decorative technique in which a very precise, intricate and repetitive pattern is mechanically engraved into an underlying material, in this case, the enamel on the bowl of the spoons.
Each spoon is approx. 3-3/4 inches long and weighs 8 g, for a total of about 96 g.  Three of the spoons have minor wear on the handles, which I have shown in a closeup photo.  Other than that, the spoons are all in very good condition.
The white satin lined box is also in good condition.  The top of the box does have just a tiny bit of scraped paper (see the photo), but it blends in with the background and is not that noticeable.
Thank you for looking!
We are in the process of downsizing.  Along with cleaning out my jewelry box, I'm looking through drawers and boxes in my basement.  I'm amazed at what I'm finding to share with you!  :-)  In addition, I have recently come into possession of a large number of items from an estate auction. So please take a look at my other items!
