  • Condition: Very good pre-owned and used condition. There are no distracting dings or dents but all of the plates have surface scratches consistent with light use, polishing and storage. I have lightly polished these but they could do with a more thorough polishing. A buffing/polishing by a silversmith would have these plates looking like brand new for a nominal fee.     Description

    This listing is for a set of 6 hand-crafted mid-century modern sterling silver dessert or salad plates.  They have an applied handle and are triangular shaped.  Each plate is 5 1/2" wide by 6 1/2" from tip to end of the handle and together, total weight is 26.32 troy ounces.  Each plate has a felt bag to keep tarnish away and there are no monograms.  The hallmarks on the underside are Hecho in Mexico (made in Mexico), 0.925 (92.5% silver which is sterling standard), JMS for Jose Marmolejo who collaborated with Tane Orfebres (workshop) so this set was made for Tane in Mexico City.  There is also Marmolejo's eagle mark.
